YOUR HONOR

December 5, 2018 by San Quentin News Contributor

Your honor, I am an attorney

And my clients is the earth

She has been always mistreated

And neglected from her birth.

And I am pleading her case

In this court, today, your honor

One of her lungs can’t be cured

And we are looking for a donor

Otherwise she could be dead

By next summer or spring

And you and I will not be able

To cut flowers or to sing.

AS you can see she’s very fragile

She’s not that strong anymore

She can’t live like that much longer

Though she still answers the door.

So ‘m asking you, your honor,

For some wise justice on her name

And who else could we blames?
