ABOUT PRINCE

July 12, 2018 by San Quentin News Contributor

AS a diminutive presence seeping in music, songs and dance,

Strait-way into every heart,

A jazzy funky package-

All into one into all,

Androgynous but unique.

He the Purple Prince of joy!

Now-where may his likeness go?

Self contained-not above or below.

At once every where through the eyes.

The blessings flow und grow,

AS if by grooving along spirit lines

Aglow in brightness paving a way.

Thinking and filling our dream

He-the purple Prince of Joy!

His twirls appear in spaces

His grace between the emptiness

Turning our loves bottom up

Feeling the urge to jump in

Will you swoon and croon

Rocking and rolling endlessly.

He-the Purple Prince of joy!

Here and now-awe inspired

We are the continuance ablaze

With his all-embracing brand

Of wild pizzazz and crying doves

We love thee-through and thought

He-the funky Purple Prince of Joy!
