A carjacking suspect got a surprise when the 2009 Chevy Tahoe he was driving suddenly shut down during the heat of a police chase. It was the first use of the On Star stolen vehicle shut down feature that became available on some models in the year 2009. The 21-year-old thief was arrested after a short foot chase.
