Carlos Muñoz de 56 años residente de San Quentin y padre, quien está preocupado en el impacto que va a traer a los que no tengan el derecho de nacimiento, para futuras generaciones que nacen en este país de padres indocumentados.
“Si mis hijos son nacidos aquí y les quitan la ciudadanía americana, y se me enferman. Y no tienen nacionalidad, ¿dónde van a parar?” Muñoz se pregunta. “No son de México, no son de EE.UU. así que ¿adónde van pedir ayuda médica?”Agregٖó.

Sin embargo, lo que es cierto por el momento es que 22 estados de la nación americana serán excluidos en esta decisión. No está claro, como esta administración va a proceder en su reciente victoria.
Este tema polémico en términos de ser constitucional, no ha sido argumentado por la administración Trump en términos de que las órdenes ejecutivas van a remover el derecho de ciudadanía, es constitucional. Ninguno de los seis jueces comentaron sobre esta pregunta.

According to Supreme Court records in the case Trump, President of the United States, et al., v. Casa Inc., et al. No. 24A884 — Decision June 27, 2025, three yeses ruled in favor of the president and three against.
The United States is among the 30 countries that grant birthright citizenship—basically, birth in the territory or “the right to have been born in the territory”—and is most often applied in the Americas, Canada, and Mexico, The Associated Press (AP) reported on June 27, 2025.
Trump and his allies have argued that there should be stricter guidelines for becoming an American citizen, something they call “a profound and precious gift,” which Trump signed in his executive order on his first day in office.
The Trump administration’s rhetoric argues that the children of non-citizens are not subjects of the United States—a phrase used in the amendment—and therefore the right to citizenship does not apply to them.
Carlos Muñoz, a 56-year-old San Quentin resident and father, is concerned about the impact this will have on those without the birthright, and on future generations born in this country to undocumented parents. “If my children are born here and their American citizenship is taken away, and they get sick, and they don’t have citizenship, where will they end up?” Muñoz wondered. “They’re not from Mexico, they’re not from the U.S., so where will they go to get medical help?” he added.
However, Trump openly praised the justices. “It’s a monumental victory,” he said, “based on common sense.”
Most people are wondering whether the president has the power to automatically strip his citizens of their citizenship. The court confirmed that’s a question they won’t answer. The court chose to focus on how to scale back judicial authority, reported Sarah Matusek and Henry Gass of The Christian Science Monitor on June 27.
The three liberal justices were upset with the direction their colleagues decided, “a danger existing in the rule of law,” wrote Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
In her decision, Justice Sonia Sotomayor stated that no right is secure under the new legal regime the court has created. “Now, the threat is to the birthright of citizenship. Tomorrow, a different administration will try to take away firearms from law-abiding citizens or prevent certain faiths from being able to gather to worship.”
Unfortunately, the future is imminent for the millions who will be born in the country or on American soil to undocumented parents.
However, what is certain for the moment is that 22 states will be excluded from this decision. It is unclear how this administration will proceed with its recent victory.
This controversial issue, in terms of its constitutionality, has not been argued by the Trump administration in terms of whether the executive orders will take away the right to citizenship; it is constitutional. None of the six justices commented on this question.
In her comments, Sotomayor wrote, “The majority is totally unaware of whether the president’s executive orders are constitutional.”

Hours after this decision, pro-immigrant groups in Maryland and New Hampshire filed lawsuits, something that will prevent the government from enforcing citizenship rights against members of the lawsuit class anywhere in the United States, the Matusek & Gass report concluded.
“Trump is attacking us for being Latino. These are the same actions Hitler was committing against Jews to such an extent that he almost achieved the extermination of that race,” Moreno stated. “It is the community’s duty to unite and protest to remove this dictator who is affecting the entire world and the economy of a nation of immigrants who are not criminals.”
