Christmas

May 27, 2018 by San Quentin News Contributor

Gun towers, barb wire, concrete

And fear,

They seem to fade away

Around this time of year.

Just when this world

seems to tear you apart

Let us hold Christmas time

close to our heart.

thoughts of Christmas

Are warm and sentimental

even the guards

are less temperamental

for doing hard time

to joy and good cheer

let us all get along

as we  bring in the new year.

Poem By Gary Valentine.
