Flag football kicks off with three competitive games

GAME ONE:

The San Quentin Rehabilitation Centers’ All-In Flag Football season began with a barnburner. Team Finesse vs. Don’t Hate. Lino led team Don’t Hate with six receptions, one touchdown, and one 2-point conversion. Davion ”Smooth” Starks added three receptions, one rushing touchdown, and snatched two end zone passes.

As the game remained close, Jimmy Hollings had a pick-six, in spite of Pookie’s four interceptions, which allowed Team Finesse to take over the game on multiple plays. Team Finesse’s playmakers included the tandem of Lawrence to Cutrer, for a long TD drive. Lawrence threw the final touchdown pass clinching their first win of the season, 48- 32.

GAME TWO:

In game two, the Three P’s took on the Ballers and the Three P’s offense had a solid game. Tillman (LS) had three completions for two TDs. Gilmore (Greezy) added six receptions and three touchdowns. DP Polle led the defense with two pick-six interceptions. The Ballers player Matthew Cortez spread the ball around, but came out on the short end, as the Three P’s won 46-32 over the Ballers.

GAME THREE:

The final game of opening day, team Spartans took on team Go Crazy. Spartans player Jose Maya led the team with five receptions, and one touchdown. Spartans’, Delvey Adams and Teez Mathis each scored two touchdowns.

Go Crazy player Sophear completed eight passes against one interception while scoring a 40-yard touchdown.

Go Crazy’s offensive stars like Clark, Steez Strickland, and EJ Ferdinand couldn’t overcome the early deficit.

The Spartans used trick plays that allowed them to win, 44-20.
